Is WZ8 white or brown?

Per ISO 6848, WZ8 (0.70-0.90% ZrO2) is white; WZ3 (0.15-0.50% ZrO2) is brown. Older charts and some regional habits swap them - always confirm by the text designation on the label.

When should I choose WZ8 over WP for aluminium?

When AC current is high, duty is long, or weld cleanliness is inspected. WP remains fine for light AC work at lowest cost.

Do you ship WZ8 in 2.4 mm?

WZ8 Zirconiated Tungsten Electrode (White Tip, 0.8% ZrO2)

For AC aluminium work above the comfort zone of pure tungsten, zirconiated is the upgrade: the zirconia addition keeps the ball stable, resists splitting and spitting tungsten into the puddle, and tolerates higher AC current.

Heavy AC aluminium

Plate, castings and thick sections on AC: WZ8 holds its ball where WP would over-ball or spit.

Cleanliness-critical welds

Aerospace-adjacent and food-industry fab shops choose zirconiated to keep tungsten inclusions out of radiographs.

Not a DC electrode

On DCEN the zirconiated ball behaves poorly; for DC use WL20 or WC20.
