WL15 / WL20 · gold & dark blue tip

WL15 & WL20 Lanthanated Tungsten Electrodes (Gold / Blue)

If you want one electrode family to cover most of the shop, it is lanthanated. WL15 (gold, 1.5% La2O3) and WL20 (dark blue, 2.0%) run DC and AC, start easily, carry current well and carry no radioactive element — which is why they are the default substitution route away from red-tip WT20.

Both colours ship from our Baoji stock in the full diameter matrix; mixed gold/blue cartons are a normal order line for us.

Where WL15 / WL20 earns its place

The one-family shop standard

Steel, stainless, nickel alloys, titanium, and AC aluminium in a pinch: WL20 covers the matrix that used to need three boxes.

WT20 replacement programmes

European and safety-driven shops convert procedure-by-procedure. We supply trial cartons of WL15/WL20 next to your remaining WT20 stock so welders compare on real joints.

WL15 vs WL20 in one line

WL15 shines at lower-to-mid current with frequent re-starts; WL20 takes more current and lasts longer at duty. Unsure? Start with WL20 — see how to choose.

Colour caution

Lanthanated band colours have historically varied by maker (blue/gold/black). Ours follow ISO 6848: WL15 gold, WL20 dark blue — and the label on your box states the designation in text, so there is no ambiguity at the bench.
